It looks like a rendering issue. Try turning off Maximum Bit Depth and Maximum Render Quality in the Sequence Settings.

Wow, that is a new one. Could you some how be hitting the “L” key while editing? Or maybe the key is shorting out on the keyboard. Try disabling the key; go to Keyboard Shortcuts, search for Shuttle Right and turn off the “L”. You can add it back in later if this is not the problem.

QuickTime has a trim feature where you can set an in and out point on a file and export that section as a new file, if that helps.

Turn off Auto White Balance on the camera, it is always searching for colors and trying to correct on the fly.

Have you tried opening the files in QuickTime and then exporting them as a new file? (on the Mac or the PC) Maybe this will strip out whatever is causing the problem. It’s a shot in the dark.

In the Project Settings, try switching the Video Rendering and Playback between GPU Acceleration and Software Only. See if that makes any difference.

Click to highlight the clip in the sequence. In the top dropdown menus select Clip/Audio Options/Audio Gain. Then click on the Normalize Max Peak to 0dB button in the pop-up window.
Does that give you what you are looking for?

Try applying the Warp Stabilizer in a couple of passes. Do one, export the clip and re-import it, then apply the effect again to see if you can get the results you want.
