The best way to keep anything from scaling the video is to create a 1920×1080 sequence and place your 720×576 footage in it. It will look like this with a big black border all around.
That will maintain your footage in its original size. Then export at 1920×1080 and build your blu-ray.

You can Right Click on the effect in the Effects Control tab and select Save Preset… Then it will appear in the Presets Bin of the Effects tab.

In the sequence, park the play head somewhere in the clip you want.
Click and highlight the clip in the sequence.
Hit “f” key to Match Frame.
This will load the clip into the Source window with the in and out points that match the clip in the sequence.Is the what you are looking for?

Usually, my subclips are the takes I want to keep, so I have not tried to label them separately. My next step, in your situation, would be to export and re-import the subclips so they would all be individual files.

Use the sub-clipping feature. Set the in and out points in a clip in the Source window. Choose menu item Clip then Make SubClip from the drop down. Add a name for your new clip. Click OK. You can make as many sub clips as you like from one single clip. You can also use the color labels to help sort the sub clips by subject or good/bad.

Try a physical effect. Mic a good quality speaker then slowly cover it with various materials, a pillow, a bean bag chair, , a bag of rice, etc., then blend in the re-recorded effect sound as the person sinks.

Make sure Maximum Depth is turned off and Maximum Render Quality is turned off, unselected.

MRQ and Max Depth are not needed for this, as you’ve discovered it will only inflate your render times.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I have always said this and have even taught it in my NLE classes. Nesting should not be a workflow. It should be used sparingly in special circumstances. Too many things can go wrong down the line.
