Nope. Since you can only have one project open at a time, you can only Media Manage one project at a time. I have not seen any outside or third-party solutions.

There are no real standards for subtitles. It is mostly a matter of personal style weighed against what is readable to the viewer. Looking at movies, TV shows, and on-line content from around the world will demonstrate quite a range of subtitle styles and methods. Sometimes when two people are talking in a continuous steam the subtitles are back to back, no gaps. Sometimes one person is on one line and the other is on the line of text below them or the titles are offset to one side and the other. Occasionally, two different colors are used to indicate who is speaking.
The best thing to do is to complete a scene with subtitles the way you like (or do few variations) and have several people watch it with the sound off to see if the are able to read and distinguish each character’s dialogue comfortably.

Import your video file into Audition (it will only bring in the audio)
File > New > Multitrack Session
Right click on your imported file > Extract channels to mono files
Now you have your stereo channels L and R as two separate files
Right click on the file for Channel 1 > Insert into multitrack
Do the same for the second file
Now you are ready to edit each individually
Depending on the version of Audition you have , you may want to change the Workspace to Classic for a traditional timeline view.Joe

Do separate both speakers into different mono tracks, that will make them easier to work on. If you add the Dynamics Processor compressor you can select a preset like Noise Gate @ 10dB, this should help with some of the bleed over from the other mic. If the bleed is too strong for the Gate then you’ll have to edit the volume on each clip up and down.

I’ve always found that Premiere seems to read what is on the hidden layers and if you have noise reduction, blurs, heavy third party plugins, etc. it can slow down the render process. Even though it really shouldn’t. So when I have layers like you described and render times need to be fast, I will trim back the hidden video layers to their points of transition or cut. It does make a difference.

The best advice I can give is not to burn it from Encore. Have it build a disc image, put it on your hard drive and then use another program to burn the actual disc. That has work best for us. But anything of quantity, over 100, we still send out for replication. I think Disc Makers has a guarantee on their discs.
