    Hello!

I’ve got an anime short that I’m working on and I’m trying to emulate, as close as I can, the look of an 80’s anime. I know that they were done on cells and hand drawn but I really like that look! I’m including a few shots from the 1986 Transformers movie to help illustrate what I’m going for and below is a a quick shot from my anime short.

    Thanks in advance! 🙂

    Hello!

No, I mean more like trying to emulate that sort of “washed out and aged” look in PP. How would I accomplish this?

It was more about having a blanket effect after all the artwork is finished to have that desired effect. Like a filter.

Red Giant’s VHS look, a plugin for Premiere, may help get the look you want.

Do what I do, and play around with the Color Correction effects. I always try to recreate the look of old, 35mm, technicolor film for my work, and I found that going into Color Correction and increasing the Brightness and Contrast, as well as increasing the Saturation under Fast Color Corrector, and adding just a hint of noise (not to mention rendering and exporting at 24 fps instead of 29.97), I find that I can get passable results: not exactly perfect, but close enough for jazz.
