Random speed issues with my project
When working in Premiere Pro CC 2015 my projects will randomly speed up. I will be working in a sequence, and even in the middle of viewing it, it will randomly accelerate to twice its normal speed. It happens across all my files, not just the one project, and i can’t revert the speed. Sometimes it will randomly go back to normal, but I assume it has to be something with the program itself and not just the settings since its all my projects. Any help will be appreciated!

Wow, that is a new one. Could you some how be hitting the “L” key while editing? Or maybe the key is shorting out on the keyboard. Try disabling the key; go to Keyboard Shortcuts, search for Shuttle Right and turn off the “L”. You can add it back in later if this is not the problem.

The j, k, and L keys still function properly even with the super speed. Unfortunately I can’t even troubleshoot the problem now since it finally went back to normal after 2 days. I’ll update the post when it happens again haha.

Well after a lot of googling I have learned that it was my microphone that was causing the random speeds in my timeline. I never would have guessed.

Again, WOW! That is not even in my troubleshooting toolkit to check the microphone.
