Set the Zoom In level to the closeness you like then use the “\” backslash key to zoom out to view the entire sequence, click on the desired point in time with the play-head and then hit the backslash key again, it will zoom back into to your preset level. This one way you can jump around zooming in and out quickly.

Adobe Story hit with great aspirations, but I don’t think the code is there yet to do the kind of work you, or the rest of us, expect it to. I’m hoping Adobe will revisit it and make it a powerful tool in the future.

Is the voice part of the original sequence? Maybe it is pasting it on a stray audio track when you bring it in. Scroll down the tracks in the timeline to see if it added some new ones when pasting.

Try sending the tape to a professional dub house that has engineers who are set up to recover problem tape footage.

Try converting them to an AIF or WAV file in Audition, then bring them into Premiere. MP3 doesn’t always play nice with edit systems.

From what I remember, CS6 does not take advantage of the Use Previews, even though there is a box to be checked for it. Somehow the option got into the CS6 version before it was ready to be functional. In CC you will see the advantage.
