You can only relink master clips to master clips with an equal length. Subclips and sync clips you may relink to whatever master clips contains matching metadata (tape, timecode).

Currently AMA does not support Quicktime. So yes, it would require a “regular” import from ProRes into DNxHD.
MC5, just announced at NAB, to be released June 10th, _will_ support QT over AMA (and therefore will explicitly allow users to use ProRes files captured with FCP and such).

Not sure what the supported config for the G5 is, but you may want to check out stuff like this: https://www.adcom.it/public/images/pdf/OSX%20AVID.pdf, to make sure that your slot configuration is correct.

Actually, it does make sense. Much like you can transcode either clips or sequences, consolidate either clips or sequences, you can relink clips or sequences, including “to selected”.

The Avid will not work with the Kona card.
Avid software only works with:
– Avid Mojo
– Avid Mojo SDI
– Avid Mojo DX
– Avid Adrenaline
– Avid Adrenaline HD
– Avid Nitris DXWith the release of v5 in June, it will also work with the Matrox MXO2 Mini, but for output only, not for capturing.
I’m pretty sure that some folks are running both apps on the same machine. You have to keep in mind the system requirements (OS version, QT version) for each, and make sure they match. Wrong versions of OS and QT will cause trouble for both apps.

If you’re on MC4 or later, simply import the DVCPROHD file into a 29.97 project. Then open your 23.98p project, choose File->Open Bin and navigate to the bin with the imported clip. You may then instantly use the footage in the 23.98p project, and the Avid will apply a motion adapter to convert the 29.97i to 23.976p.

I’ve done it before, I think more or less like this: Duplicate your sequence and place it in a bin with all original master clips. Select all, then relink to selected.
