Have you run EditPrep to turn off all the fancy features that tend to bog down Windows?

What are your export settings in MC, and import settings in AE?

Set Bin Display-> show reference clips. That should list all master clip sources for the group clips, subclips, syncclips and sequences in that bin.

Transcode the master clips that the group clips are made of?

I think the trick is to add at least one frame of media at the very start of the sequence for the tracks that the TC burnin effect is now not recognizing.

IIRC, I already revived that project for NCF once, some years ago. I might even have a copy somewhere.
However, the trick is to add the extension ‘.avp’ to the file named ‘Serengeti Alfabet’, and the extension ‘.avs’ to the file named ‘Serengeti Alfabet Settings’. After that, I was able to open the project and the bins in MC 5.5 under OSX 10.6.6.

MC will only work with Avid-approved hardware. For MC5.5 that is Mojo, Mojo-SDI, Adrenaline, Adrenaline HD, Nitris DX, Matrox MXO2 Mini (monitoring only), Matrox MXO2 Mini MAX (monitoring only, MAX = Mac-only), AJA Io Express.
Kona3 and Avid MC won’t work.

I’m pretty sure that the default installer these days installs both MediaLog and Media Composer on the same system.
Not sure if the two can be fired up simultaneously, I’ve never tried. -
Just drag them from the media tool into any (new or existing) bin. Done.

Much safer would be to choose the ‘old’ P2-Import Clips / Import Media method (which shows up when you disable AMA and relaunch MC).
That gives you a checksum copy in the right place with Avid-created containers. Just as fast as a copy.
