You didn’t understand me. Take the audio files from iTunes, and rebuild them in compressor to an aif file. Then edit those aif’s into the sequence,replacing the old audio files.
The audio file’s format is causing this problem I’ll bet, and you need to rebuild it so that when export happens, it doesn’t cut out.

That strobing is recorded in… no way to just remove it with a plug in. But might find a frame that doesn’t tear up and freeze that… course, it will freeze foreground too… but you’re problem was caused by a scan rate not matching between the projector’s scan rate and the rate you shot with… if you can shoot progressively, and set the projector to 50 or 60hz depending on your country… you’ll not record the tearing in the first place. i don’t suppose you can reshoot?

Check the scopes in the Log and Capture window to set the playback from the betacam machine up. There are controls on most beta machines to change levels of playback… you need to adjust those on the machine itself. Will be the same 4 adjustments you find on a TV set. Set your bars up that way from the source tapes or use the pictures shot to set these levels up properly, and they will come in at the levels you’ve set using the scopes in the log and capture window.

Anything already rendered to HDV will have to be re-rendered no matter what… But should be for that matter.

You could try trashing the preferences for FCP, but the real fix here is to perform a clean install of it all… ie, erase your startup disk after backing it up, then install the OS, upgrade it all the way, then install Studio, and upgrade it all the way. You need not install previous versions of studio or FCP. Just have their serial numbers handy as an upgrade disk will ask for it. All upgrade discs include all of the software BTW…

Make sure the settings in the Matrox control panel match those of your sequence’s and source clips.
Then choose the matching setting in the video and audio output selections in the bottom of the View menu.
Then turning on external viewing should work OK.
If your box isn’t connected, you’ll get that message too… so check that for sure. Also in the control panel, it will report it doesn’t see a box if the connection isn’t right.
There is an uninstaller for the Matrox software in your apps folder, try uninstallng and then reinstalling the proper drivers for your OS and version of FCP. And give it all another go.

If the markers are within clips you could make those markers subclips, and export that XML. You can also export sequence markers as a text file. That’s in the file/export submenu.

The only difference you might see is in fast moving shots (fastish pans, or sporting scenes, chase scenes). Use HQ for those sorts of projects.
Other than less noise in fast movement, you’d not see a difference between HQ and plain old 422. LT is even appropriate for many jobs. it’s still a broadcast quality codec.
