I think Episode, or Squeeze from Sorenson blows away Compressor’s quality in a heartbeat. Same settings used in Compressor vs either of these other apps will result in a better looking file from Episode or Squeeze, and they encode at least 2 times faster than compressor will.

Copy and paste the sequence to the new project file, reconnect the media to that after you’ve moved it.

I’d suggest that anyone do a clean install when going to a new version of OS.
FCS (2009) runs OK in Lion too.

Add a gain filter to the clips that you want to make louder. You can do it in FCP too.

Well, if you recapture you could deliver HD I suppose. Otherwise the DVD is going to be standard definition anyway.
If you captured it all as ProRes, you would end up with 10 bit graphics etc…

Keeping all projects and events on the scratch disk is usually the best way to run things. When you render the files go into the project’s folder. So these are media files which work best when played back from a drive other than your startup disk.
That said, if you duplicate an Event, it will copy everything to another drive. You’ll find the command in the File menu.

I think things will work just fine. YOu might test LT though… it’s broadcast quality video, and smaller than what you’re planning.
