Well, you can’t do a good job of it in FCP… BUT you can do an OK job of it with the “Advanced format conversions” in Compressor 2.
If you want speed though, Graeme Nattress’ conversion software is a lot faster than Compressor… https://www.nattress.com

You should be OK… all you really did was the extra conform you didn’t have to do…i.e. you could have removed the pulldown during capture in the first place. If you don’t see a problem, you don’t have one…

Your setup sounds fine. You’d see a bit more RT effects of layered video with the RAID over the other… Otherwise, the app should feel exactly the same.

Last time I saw this I trashed my preferences for FCP and it simply went away…

Might try deleting some columns? I’ve never had problems with this so not clear on how to troubleshoot it. But figure there’s at least something corrupted in one or more of the clips… so maybe if you just export media start/end, clip name and reel you’ll get away with it… or try exporting 20 or so at a time?

It’s not advisable… Have you already edited a finished sequence? If so, duplicate it, then perform a match frame and “replace” edit with your video files. That way the uncompressed won’t have gone thru DV first…

You’ve turned range checking … you can turn it off from the view menu or type control+z to toggle it on and off. Useful tool btw… read about it in FCP’s Help.

QT 7 installs can cause this… check out: https://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301852
Might try a different cable… if you didn’t do a clean install of Tiger, that too could be part of the problem.

Just remember QT is nothing more than a container for ANY bit depth movie… it’s not determined by QT, but rather the codec involved.
