You likely have a goofy old render file playing… Sometimes just copying and pasting the clips from the errant sequence to a new one fixes this up. (old sequence is still referencing that old render file). if that fails, trash your renders using the render manager and see if it doesn’t clean this up…

What are the properties of the clips, and what are your sequence settings set to be?
There isn’t a “Global” Sync command…

You’ll only lose quality doing it, and down the line the up conversion algorithms may be much better than they are today.

Try creating a mulitclip by setting in points in each clip. I don’t see a reason why this wouldn’t work unless the clips are not all the same format.

September 25, 2010 at 1:31 pm in reply to: Capturing from a Digital Hi8 (DCR-TRV480E) to FCP?You should set your easy setup to DV for digital 8 cameras for starters.
When you do, do you see video in the log and capture window from the tape? If not restart your computer with the camera connected and powered on. If you still don’t see the camera, try a different firewire cable and don’t loop it through a drive.

Post what the sequence settings are and what the source material’s properties are. Whole situation tells a lot more sometimes.

Your problem is H.264. FCP doesn’t support it. Put the original stills (JPEG, Whatever) in a ProRes sequence.

Ya know? I don’t use it either because it’s not nearly as full featured as QT 7 pro…
