Sorry for slow response.
Thanks for the suggestions – I will give them a try. Especially the “no autoscale” – I am pretty sure I have that enabled currently.
Sure wish the document was better.
Cheers,

The OP stated they are working with DV25 as mxf. This is not on the codec list. The poster who suggested a transcode to uncompressed has the correct answer.
And Micheal’s suggestion on the way to make the AAF is good also. But I do not believe Resolve will ever see the DV25 material – not on the list.

February 26, 2012 at 2:07 pm in reply to: Major Gamma / Luma Shift Resolve -> Avid DNxHD MXF Media -> AvidWhen testing this issue, please remember that there are scopes in the Avid Color correction tool. While basic, they is accurate enough to eliminate the setup of a computer monitor from this whole discussion.
Plus you can take a screengrab and send it off to BMD.
That said, I agree with Joesph on this. We struggled with this constantly at first.

January 31, 2012 at 1:37 am in reply to: MC6 AAF -> Resolve 8.1 Lite (no linking to clips on import)You may have just made a typo, but there is no such thing as 1:1 DNxHD.
1:1 is uncompressed. DNxHD is a compressed format.
That said, we have successfully used 1:1 and 1:1 10bit Avid .mxf footage in the most recent builds of Resolve on Mac hardware. We can not currently CREATE 1:1 10bit .mxf files (really need that). So I am not sure what your issue is.
What ver Resolve are you running?

January 28, 2012 at 4:05 pm in reply to: Avid MC6 to Resolve 8.1: “timecode extents doesn’t match” ErrorThe first thing I notice is that the clip in the Avid bin has colons between the numbers. This meaning NDF TC. In the Resolve windows, there are semicolons – meaning DF TC.
I have had problems getting Resolve set up correctly for DF TC in certain cases. In general I have this nagging feeling that they are NOT handling drop frame correctly but I can not put my finger on where or how. It is just a feeling.

Well, DaVinci Resolve is writing DNxHD .mxf files. In fact, they can’t handle QT DNx!! And there is a free version of Resolve doing this.
So I don’t think it is a proprietary issue.

Herb,
From what I read and hear, the Sound Devices product records the DNx as .mov file, not .mxf files. This is not the optimal workflow for Avid as I assume you know. Strikes me as odd that that is how they do it.
I have not seen / heard anything about this important detail for the AJA product. And seeing as how it is no longer Q4 2011, details should be coming quite soon I hope.
Cheers,

I mean to retest this, but no time.
Sorry.

Hello,
Try a tiff sequence. Though I must say that we have had luck with DNx and 1:1 MXF.
Have you tried exporting a segment of color bars and sending it back and comparing?
Good luck,
