    Hi

we just downloaded the trial version from boris and always get this error.

After Effects error: file ‘MVI_9630.MOV.V14E7F3709.mxf’ cannot be imported — this ‘MXF ’ file is damaged or unsupported.

Our Source Material is originally Canon D5 material imported into Avid as DnxHD 185x.

We tried it on PC with MC 5.5 and Adobe After Effects CS 5.5 and
on a Mac Book Pro with MC 5.0.3 and Adobe After Effects CS 5.0

We also tried to transcode the Sequenz to 1:1.

    Any help is highly appreciated

    Hi,

The problem that you are experiencing is not related to the codec – DnxHD 185x is a supported Avid codec so it has to be another problem that is preventing you from being able to transfer this clip. Perhaps is is related to the file path not linking correctly or it might be a permissions issue? I’m not totally sure.

I’m going to ask that you contact one of the tech support guys here at Boris FX – they can go over your system with you and hopefully help you to resolve the issue. You can reach them via email at support@borisfx.com.

    Cheers,

    Peter.

I am running into a similar situation. Just downloaded the trial and set up a simple 2 clip sequence made of Avid DV50 .mxf footage.

The first clip is wrong in the AE project and replaced with the second clip. Both this incorrect clip and and the second clip show up with a place holder.

The first clip is shown in the Reconnect Media list as online. But is not referenced in the imported AE sequence.

Plus, AE crashes if I choose MXF only in the Link To Original Source area.

Now, I will say that this is CS3 After Effects. And while the Boris plug identified that, I wonder if this is an issue?

Just for info, Avid is MC 5.5.2 on Mac.

    No

We now use Automatick Duck until this issue is solved.
