    Hi,

    Looking for some pointers in the right direction. I’m trying to get my feet wet in Resolve and I can’t seem to get an AAF to link to my media. I onlined my sequence to 1:1 MXF and consolidated the media to my local hard drive. I then exported an AAF (with AAF edit prot. selected). When I try to import the AAF into resolve it says unable to link to any clips.

    My original media was 5D Mark II footage that was brought in via AMA, transcoded to DNxHD 36 and then onlined to 1:1.

    Any help much appreciated.

    Add the media directory to Resolve’s “Preferences” > “Media Storage Volumes” and then restart the app. Go to BROWSE and add all the media to Media Pool and only then Load the AAF. You can then uncheck the “Automatically import source clips into media pool”. After the AAF is loaded Resolve fins the media from Media Pool.

    This seems to work better.

    Hi,

    When I click on my Avid MediaFiles folder in the ‘Browse’ tab, none of my .mxf files show in the Clip Details tab – only folders. Any ideas?

    You should be able to click/open the folders….

    I do and nothing is inside of them inside Resolve.

    I did open the folders but no media is inside of them in Resolve. They are just empty folders.

    Any help much appreciated.

    Did a test on my codec. I was using 1:1 DNxHD. I transcoded it to DNxHD 175 and Resolve was able to see the clips. Any ideas why it cannot recognize 1:1 clips and how to fix it?

    You may have just made a typo, but there is no such thing as 1:1 DNxHD.

    1:1 is uncompressed. DNxHD is a compressed format.

    That said, we have successfully used 1:1 and 1:1 10bit Avid .mxf footage in the most recent builds of Resolve on Mac hardware. We can not currently CREATE 1:1 10bit .mxf files (really need that). So I am not sure what your issue is.

    What ver Resolve are you running?

    Jef,

    You should be able to create 1:1 10bit .mxf files using the MXF RGB 1080p and 1080i output type. Similarly, you can create 1:1 8 bit using the UYVY options.

    Hi Jeff,

    I appreciate the help. The issue is that when I create 1:1 MXF files in Avid and try to open them in Resolve Lite 8.1.1, the files do not show up in the clip browser. They are invisible.

    I did a test with DNxHD 175 files and those worked just fine.

    So I’m looking for some help to figure out why they do not show up. They were 5D footage that eventually was onlined to 1:1.
