January 31, 2012 at 5:14 pmI experience the same thing all the time. 1:1 RGB MXF files created by Avid software (and that includes Avid MetaFuze) are not readable by Resolve, on either Linux or Mac. I usually transcode them to DNxHD175X, which is a pretty solid mastering quality codec, but it’s definitely annoying and should be addressed.

June 28, 2012 at 3:58 amHas anyone discovered a solution to this problem.
Avid generated .mxf files in 1:1. Davinci Media Pool is not reading them but is reading lower resolutions such as DNxHD 175

June 28, 2012 at 7:32 pmYou are trying to link to the MXF 1:1 files?
Are you saying that DaVinci won’t read your MXF 1:1 files? -

June 28, 2012 at 8:43 pmHi Craig,
That is correct. Davinci is not linking to 1:1 files. In fact the files are not even registering in the MediaPool.
In the end I transcoded to a different format. Voila!
The next issue it to figure out why media generated by Avid has trouble playing in Davinci. It will play, it’s just CPU intensive and drops frames more than other codecs.
Thanks again,
Brenton

June 28, 2012 at 8:45 pmAVID media typically isn’t very CPU heavy. It’s probably more of a compatibility issue with Resolve.
Glad you were able to relink using another file type!

June 28, 2012 at 11:48 pmWhich version of Resolve software are you using?
Can you also provide some details about which exact codec and frame rate (DF/NDF) are the files which don’t work.
Thanks,

April 18, 2014 at 6:56 pmMay not be related, but I should add, if you have periods in folder names like /A012_C007_06160K_001.R3D – muzzle flash/ Resolve will not see the folder or it’s contents.
Filenames can have additional periods in them, but not folders or directories. remove any periods in directory names may solve the problem in this case.
