We just installed the AJA 10.1 drivers and the CS 5.5.3 plugins on a Win 7 64 bit system. It also runs MC 6.0.1 and the Kona card is happy with that software.

The manual is pretty thin in regards to AE. I am wondering what I can really expect in usability. Right now I have a limited set of use options.

For example, if I take quality down from full to anything else, I do not get realtime playback.

The only Output setting that seems to work in the AJA Preview Settings is Output 8 bit RGBA 4:4:4:4. Anything else is non realtime.

I can not get the Secondary Output to work at all.

Does this sound right or is it pointing to a system problem of some type?

    Thanks for any insight.

    Jef,
My limited experience w/ AE on a Windows system is that for realtime playback:
    1) Do not use autoscale in the Kona output. Make sure it’s 1:1, i.e., if you are working at 1/2 rez, then you have a 1/2 size window on your SDI monitor.
    2) Match the computer size to the playback size. I don’t get realtime if I zoom the computer display to 50% while generating a “full” size preview. Computer display at 100% with full-size preview works well.

And, do make sure you are rendering a preview, not using the space bar.

    I’m using the 10.0.1 x64 drivers and the 5.5.2 x64 plugins.

    Sorry for slow response.

Thanks for the suggestions – I will give them a try. Especially the “no autoscale” – I am pretty sure I have that enabled currently.

Sure wish the document was better.

    Cheers,

    Jef

    Hey Jeff (with 2 f’s 😉 )

The “don’t use Auto Resize Image” suggestion was great.

    Thanks again!!
