not sure exactly what you’re asking – but you can usually just open all the pix in PS – then drag them all with the move tool (v) into a new blank document. They will automatically be put on seperate layers. Hope that helps!

Also – just as a thought – if you have stills – keep them below 1500x1500px

Premiere will import bigger – but is funky upon rendering if you do.

Steve is exactly right – it’s a ton of people skills – team leading etc.

I’ll add that it is also the ability to let others do the work for you. A few years ago, this was really hard for me. I am a do it all kind of guy. But as an Art director you bring out the best in everyone on your team – you know their strengths and you magnify and amplify them.

You’ll also need to be good as explaining exaclty HOW and WHY your artistic and design choices will positively impact your client’s bottom line. (this is often a tricky thing.)

And lastly – you’ll need to be good at constructive criticism. How do you tell your designer that his design sucks while at the same time inspiring him or her to take it to the next level. It’s an artform.

I for one love it. Hope you do too! 🙂

    Good luck!

June 7, 2005 at 8:25 am in reply to: stupid question, but how do you flip flop?

Always post your solution if you find it – for the others.

I find the fastest way is to hit CTRL+T or CMD+T and then right click (ctrl+click) in the middle of the bounding box and select either ‘Flip Horizontal’ or ‘Flip Vertical’

    Hope that helps!

it’s probably just your pixel aspect ratio correction that is low-res. I usually turn this off – as I can’t stand it either.

It’s a lil button below your preveiw – turn it off and see if that helps.

(of course – your stuff will look a little flattened – but to me that’s often preferrable.)

Not sure if this is what you mean – but try to add a solid and apply Effect>Text>numbers – set to ‘number’ – and just animate the value/offset from 1 to 65

Couldn’t you animate four or so frames of the flap and then simply loop it?

Just seems like the way to go with that one – on first thought at least.

  • Or, alternately – scrub the numeric values in the Anchor transform properties of the layer. It’s the ‘a’ key. Sometimes I find this easier to be precise with.
