So have you tried to import the Panaosnic P2 and the the FCP rejects it? Just for grins what level are you editing with in FCP? OS X? Quiktime?
So you could try putting the other folders back into the CONTENTS folder. They don’t necessarily have to have anything in them, they may just have to be there. If you have another one that is a good folder, and I apologize I am writing this on the fly and I have to run, but add the other 4 folders and see if that makes FCP happier.

I thow the whole contents folder into the transh, and with an option delete, they are forced into deletion. Then do the info folder on the last clip file and delete it. Don’t forget to empty the trash though.

Yes it will, we will have working units in our booth at NAB, and they all should be available by then. I keep forgetting that NAB is so late this year. List price is $2,195.

Since you say that everyone is afraid of the P2, why not buy the 4GB card for experimentation, by the time you get the 8GB card it will likely be May.

Right now, but they are in short supply. I suggest you find a dealer that is an authorized vendor and place your order. Not many will have these sitting on a shelf for the next couple of months at least. We are delivering just not enough to meet demand.

Hmm, something is wrong as on my G4 one 4 GB card transfers in about 3-4 minutes, and done, that is through the PCMCIA slot. The USB slot should be about the same. I transferred 100GBs of P2 data from one hard drive to another in about 90 minutes. One was on firewire and the other was on USB.
Check to make sure that is really USB 2 and not USB 1.
Was the P2 Store full? That would be 60 GBs and would take close to an hour, perhaps a little more if you were verifying as you go.

It does not function in SD as there is nothing to blow up to. With HD there is a larger image to blow up to. At 2X there is beyond the pixel level of SD. So use the peaking as you would on the DVX.

The HVX’s LCD is sharper than your friend’s DVX100A. Heck the DVX100B’s LCD is sharper than the DVX100A. There are strategies in the camera that will help you focus on HD subject atter. One is peaking and the other is Focus Assist. Initially I think it may take a little practice in using it, just like it took me practice in getting used to an LCD in the viewfinder on the first DV cameras, like the AG-EZ1. Initially I couldn’t figure out whether I was in focus or not, but I quickly learned. The same is true here.

Sorry for taking so long, but since this is not my product I thought I would take the time to research a little before answering.

At this time the camera is switchable between 1080i and 720P, 60i/60P. It does not look like there is 24P or variable frame rates on its product plan at this time.

Sorry I don’t see what is the question for me. These are all points that one needs to consider and look at, I can’t argue with any of them as I do not know what it is you are trying to accomplish, who your market is and the types of programming you do.
The HVX is a great little camera, but is it an SDX900, no, nor is it a Varicam. Give me some meat to bite into here, I have lots of opinions but I don’t have enough facts to go on.
