    LOL

  • “Actually mixing those three formats will show what FCPX is truly made of. HDV tape input and two H.264 codecs. Nothing will match. This is a pretty good torture test project.”

One of the most intelligent things I’ve read in this forum. I wouldn’t especially want to be the editor on this as you will be in utterly uncharted waters.

Best of luck to you sir !

    @Kim

I’m pretty sure apple will deliver a physical thumbdrive version or equivalent. It will obviously cost more 🙁

Does illustrate the dreadful internet coverage S.Africa still struggles with, as well as the drag it places on a modern economy

  • Nice ! Good idea to actually listen to the presenters. Beats the hysterical screeching, gun-jumping and over-analysing that’s been going on here and across teh interweb

    Hello there,

Just to check, is RGB rendering enabled on your FCP sequence settings ? Do you get the same result rendering an mp4 from compressor or mpeg streamclip ?

  • First step, trash your preferences in your user folder as well as cached thumbnails and waveform files. These are in your final cut scratch directory.

Power down and reboot. If you have the same message you may need to repair permissions on your drive…

    Hope this helps

  • Very interesting thread everyone !

Just to add, don’t the black dots on the edge of the doecahedron graphic in the PDF look like alpha masks gone a bit wrong ?

If you select the clip in the timeline and press “cmd_9” again, try changing the alpha properties by right-clicking on the word “straight” next to “alpha” and selecting black, white or ignore. This might change the way the dv clip composites and renders.

But i would still find a better format like the others said.

    Cheers !

Of course ! Nicely done, how silly of me not to do that in the first place.

I mean, its still not a great workflow to have to introduce an extra step but its something…

Thanks very much all for your comments !
