Ok sorry, I fibbed a bit before. You have to export an XML documnet and manually change the fps to
    16. This seemed to work as a nasty bodge-job

I used ’10bit Raw Image data’ setting on compressor and the GT prefs pane has the same.

I don’t see how broadcast safe comes into it as the footage is QT files straight into compressor, no FCP colour space applied ?

Sorry, I havent given you enough details here.

I was supplied an FCP project with XDCAM media which all reconnected a-ok. I then media managed the conform into separate XDCAM QT files. All well and good. However, when using compressor and gluetools to export DPX files it seems to clip the luminance at 100% where the source went all the way to 107%. I was using a 10bit raw colour export setting in gluetools.

Is there a way to export DPX files with the luminance preserved ? Do i need to export with a new white point so as to preserve levels within 100% ?

    Phew
    Many thanks

Great constructive advice there, Steve. Thanks for stopping by.

Doesn’t FCP handle up to 4096 ? And surely you can figure out a solution to mesh video and graphic elements ? I do a lot of weird aspect ratios for outdoor stuff and DEP and it all works rather well

Will give that a try, makes sense though.

Did you need to manually reconnect media afterwards ? Or are the sequences all ready to roll ?

Thanks everyone for your input. I thought I was going mad for a minute.

One more though. What does everyone do when trying to conform MXF files ? Just hold all the media on a RAID and do an off/online in one go ?How do you “conform” it afterwards if theres no master TC ot tapes ? Any ideas and/or sites would be great.

    Thanks again and take care
    James
