Are you sure you’re evaluating a final render and not a preview? Else, check your quality settings when you render?

You could try these settings recommended for vimeo. I use the vimeo optimised settings and my youtube vids look fine. worth a shot:

Hold the shift key while moving your event to override the snap feature. When aligning audio/video I often temporarily turn off quantize to frame as well.

I always create a final “range” around the portion of the video I want to render – giving me a controlled amount of black at the beginning and end. Then I double click on the range and render the looped region only as the render option. Now when I need to render again I always have the same exact rendered loop to work with which defines my total project even if I have some stored footage sitting later in the timeline… sometimes I’ll use the same project for several little videos each with their own render ranges.

Sorry, I thought I posted the final video.
The band loved it and for my first attempt at filming with a DSLR and making a music video, I think it came out nice. I was pleased that even the lip syncing is pretty darn good.Check it out in HD on the band’s Youtube page…

You don’t have to add 100’s of solids, just one long one to match the length of your video.

That’s been my thought from the git go. So long as your don’t crop below your desired render resolution of 720 it shouldn’t matter if you start with a 1080 project or a 720. Advantage to starting with a 1080 project is that any generated media you create will be at 1080 and therefore giving you a better result if you change your mind and want to render at 1080 – of course any cropped events will suffer loss of information consistent with how cropped they are below the render setting of 1080.
But some smart people who chimed in on this thread say otherwise and I’m no smarter because I still have not run my own test. LOL… but I’m glad to hear your results Gilles.

OK I’ll bite. Overall I think it’s a very good bit of work. The only thing that catches my ear is the lack of any background music. Some nondescript track would give it a more finished feel in my opinion. Also, the narrator’s S’s sound a tad hissy though I’m not sure how you could fix that…maybe some EQ? Even with these nit picks it seems like a professional piece of work.

I always turn quant2frame off when aligning my video tracks in order to sync the audio to the master track. Then I turn it back on. I have not seen any little gaps though.
