Advice from experts on first project
Hello,
I just finished my first real video project in Vegas for a friend of mine. Can some of the experts here take a look at it and tell me what you think and how I can make it better? Be honest I can take it. It’s only a minute so it won’t take you long. Thank you for your insights, ive learned most everything I know from this forum!

You’ll have to make the video unlisted or public-it’s private, so none of us can see it.
Before I even see it, my question in response to people who ask this is, “What do you think of it? You know your opinion of it.” By asking me, you’re daring me to be the bad guy and say that it isn’t good. So my advice is always to do what you like, because your job as a filmmaker is to make movies that you see. “Quality” is a dirty word in that regard.

In response I think its good. I think it could be better, maybe a bit smoother. it seems choppy from the camtasia footage. I used a combination of vegas camtasia and digital juice content with a voice over. I guess im really looking for technical advice rather than art/vision. I do like the concept and hope to start making more like it, but am interested in others opinions and advice on ways to enhance the overall quality.

OK I’ll bite. Overall I think it’s a very good bit of work. The only thing that catches my ear is the lack of any background music. Some nondescript track would give it a more finished feel in my opinion. Also, the narrator’s S’s sound a tad hissy though I’m not sure how you could fix that…maybe some EQ? Even with these nit picks it seems like a professional piece of work.

I agree the lack of any background music gives it no punch. The audio is also a bit low, I had to turn my speakers up to hear the voice over. When the VO says that we can help you build professional looking web sites it would be nice to see examples of web sites or templates so that viewers will say, “wow, I want a web site that looks like that”. Technically there is nothing wrong with it but I feel it needs to do more than just show a web site.

I’ll agree with the others, especially on the music part. If you want to use this as a broadcast commercial, shorten it to 1:00. Put an 8 frame fade at start and end so you go from black to black.

Your right the voice over needs to be louder! Thanks. I made it 5.1 now i need to boost it up. And I completely forgot about the opening and ending fade. Thank you.
And on the video showing examples of the websites, you are absolutely right. That would be great. In reality there website should have examples on their site. Then I would have something to work with. But that website is new and doesn’t have any examples. So I was only able to work with what I had. Thanks.
