how long is your video that it came out to 5GB? ..you are probably rendering with the default settings; try different settings in the Output Module within the Render Que. If you have no knowledge of compression technology, let me know

hm, start out with your projector footage clean; now try this
1. duplicate your projector footage and put it on top of your foreground object
2. duplicate your foreground object and put it on top of the duplicated projector footage layer
3. change the track matte of your duplicated foreground object to “alpha inverted”
4. apply a fast blur to your duplicated foreground object and set it to about 50
5. change the blend mode of your duplicated projector footage layer to “add”
6. change the opacity of your duplicated projector footage layer to a low valueif you did it all correctly then it should give your screen a glow and your image should be clear
if your footage is simply bad and you need to repair it, try using the “Levels” effect and play around with the little triangles in the graph until your image looks ok. If it’s that bad to begin with, you may find you need to get better projector footage.
hope this helps!

don’t know if it’s exactly what you’re looking for but Mesh Warp lets you grab each intersection and choose the amount of columns and rows. (also try grabbing each point’s bezier arm for full control!)

I believe what you’re looking for is a Track Matte. Try placing your footage below the text and setting the Track Matte to Alpha Matte.

think you could get away with faking it using a turbulent displacement?

one formula i use for that is high-contrasted, stretched out fractal noise with 1px or 2px fast blur blended in with Classic Color Dodge. then just animate the position within the fractal noise. Also, if you want to add glow to just the highlights, try duplicating your image, then using levels to crush the blacks hard. you’ll be left with the highlights which you can then fast blur and set to Color Dodge.

sorry it took so long to get back to you,
hope you’re still with me though..
if you have to see the background as well, just use vector paint and set your “composite paint” to “inverse matte”Darqlight on the Rise…

You may not be using the best tool for this job.. normally a mask should do the job (classic pen tool)
in the case that what you’re doing is so intricate that you need to paint with say, a tablet, then knock yourself out; you could apply your paint effect onto your actual footage. just double click on it and paint away. if you’re rotoscoping, pay attention to the settings in your paint toolbox. you can adjust the frame duration if say, you wanted to make each brush stroke stay on screen for a specific amount of time. if you’re not rotoscoping, then set your duration to constant. have fun! : )Darqlight on the Rise…
