sometimes i have this problem if i am running low on RAM, normally i do the following..

    Edit/Purge/All

    then..

    Edit/Preferences/Memory and Cache
    – here i click ‘clean database and cache’

    that’s it.

however, you may want to check your ‘Maximum RAM Cache Size’ and be sure that it is not set too low. you may have set it low to get your max multiprocessing capabilities but for this you also need sufficient RAM (4-5GB is good for an 8 core machine, 2GB will give you about 2-3 cores i think)

if i were you, i’d make a separate null object for each stroke and use the motion paths anyway. this way you could always parent your object to the nulls and use ‘write on’ to stroke the null’s path (not to mention you get to fiddle with the width of the line over time and get that varied line wieght effect 🙂

it sounds like you’re expecting to see the layer style in the effects controls, is that right? i remember this surprise 🙂

if so, then what you’re looking for is actually only available in the timeline. you must flyout the layer and just under ‘tranform’ you’ll see ‘layer styles’

  • being skilled with track mattes would help you out a lot;
    try this:

    – identify all layers that need the texture
    – duplicate them all
    – put them in a separate precomp and be sure they are in order
    – place the new precomp right on top of your texture
    – change the texture’s track matte to ‘alpha matte’

hm, well, just to checklist some stuff i guess you’d wanna check all title/action safe and make sure you’re exporting NTSC DV Codec (the standard animation codec isn’t necessary for broadcast too large anyway)

i always find that i can cheat my titles a bit past the title safe but i am also working with a Television set hooked up to my computer, so you could try it but use caution if you can’t preview it on a tv

type the word “broadcast” into your effects and presets text box and it will give you an effect called “broadcast colors”

that would be a motion tracking situation. all you’d have to do is motion track your text onto the van (perhaps using the ‘corner pin’ motion track) ..let me know if you’re intersted in realistically compositing it as well (lighting, texturing, grain, etc..)

lmao, wow. Kramer is so big now that if you say a bad word against him he has a legion of Graphics guys ready to defend him. now all he’s gotta do is start a clothing line and take Tom’s lead role in the Mission Impossible franchise. I wonder if he’ll actually be televised one day? hm.

by the way, you try the photo manipulation technique? let me know if it works 😉

I would recommend getting a photo of a light bulb and creating the glow with a blurred lensflare and glow
