I need overlay texture to effect only certain layers
I’m applying an image as an overlay to add textures to a scene, but it effects all layers. Is there a simple way (without changing layer order) for this not to effect certain layers?

Have you tried making some layers into precomps and nesting into a new comp?

being skilled with track mattes would help you out a lot;
try this:– identify all layers that need the texture
– duplicate them all
– put them in a separate precomp and be sure they are in order
– place the new precomp right on top of your texture
– change the texture’s track matte to ‘alpha matte’Darqlight on the Rise…
