Watch the results on a interlaced TV and you will see.
In general do not reverse field, if you capture LFF, export LFF.
If you capture UFF, export UFF.

Ensure that your external disk keeps the same drive letter as used in the project, or point PP to the files manually. Usually you only need to point it to one file, and PP will find the rest.

Why not create a new AE composition, import your PP project into this composition, apply your effects and export to Encore. Saves you the multiple compressions and inherent quality loss.

Even at the speed of light there is a delay between your monitor here and the TV 6 feet away, due to transmission. In case of fire wire from PC > Deck > TV through classic cables the lag is even more. Nothing you can do about it, but 2 seconds seems extravagant. It should more in the range of 0 to 0.5 seconds. If you disable sound on the PC and enable it on the external device, you will not notice the delay.

What stupid delay are you talking about? And what Canopus product are you talking about?

For SD the suggestion I gave works OK for me, but not for HDV. For that you need different hardware, like the AJA Kona.

    Paul,

If you want to use an external monitor, you have to use fire wire out to your cam and connect that to your TV. PP only outputs SD through fire wire.
