Make a QT Ref movie out of FCP then take THAT file into compressor. That will free up your FCP.

Be sure to UNCHECK the option that says “make movie self contained”

Export your shot to either motion or after effects and track in there. Use your transfer modes to get the right look you are looking for, then send it back to FCP. If you have to track be sure, when you are filming, put something on the headstone that is high in contrast so that AE or motion has some pixels to lock on to.(I usually put a piece of tape on my prop)

Contact SportsHD, they have everything you’re looking for. http://www.sportshd.com. You can view online samples of what they offer. Contact them and either ask for Matt or Craig. 1.303.539.7007

  • James, Check to see if the camera has an internal down convert HDV-> DV. If there is don’t have the camera do this conversion. If you’re settings in FCP are set to capture HDV and the camera is spitting out DV you won’t see a picture but you’ll be able to control the camera. Hope this helps.

    Thanks Frank,

I use the tracks tool frequently. Even using that tool the problem that I was having was still there. Thanks for the help though.

Figured out it was a currupt sequence. I took all of my cut and placed them into a new sequence and everything was fine. Thanks for the replies.
