    This is Eran Stern’s explanation of how to morph – as Eric said, it’s quite cumbersome but should be possible.

    Take a look at CC Particle World. One of the shapes available is a star, it takes a little bit of work to get set up, but setting gravity to zero and expand the producer section could give you a field like this.

  • I worry about your spaceship analogy. Specifically what that means when After Effects crashes 🤣

  • So you have “one second” of your layer and want the same duration but further along in the timeline?

    I’m guessing you have a clock or something similar which you want to keep cutting to, but to keep in time. I’d use Hold keyframes on the layer’s opacity to turn it on and off and copy and paste those to the points where you want it visible.

  • Could you not take your final composition and add it to a new composition and scale it up inside that one?

    With any precomps they should scale up too and if you’re seeing artifacts and pixelation, is it in the final render or the preview?

    I’m not too familiar with scripts to be honest, but I do remember seeing this forum:

    https://aenhancers.com/

    Which shares all sorts of scripts for AE. Including some for post-render. It’s been ages since I’ve looked.

    August 30, 2021 at 11:53 am in reply to: Orbit Shot Church Ceiling

    What do you mean by Orbit shot? When I hear orbit, I think of the subject in the centre of the screen and the camera rotating around in a circular path.

    If this is a shot where the camera is pointing at the ceiling and the ceiling is spinning, then it can be done in either:

    • In Camera means you get to be much closer to the centre of the image, but you’ll be relying on you to move it smoothly. There are techniques you can use, such as moving much more slowly (and speed up later) and using chalk marks to keep to semi-accurate time (or you can create a mount using automatic timers)
    • In post, you have to start quite zoomed out as when you rotate the image, you run the risk of seeing the edges, but then you get much more control of the speed and timing.

    So you only want to see the image when there’s a lightning flash or you want to have a black image there all the time, but only see it properly when there’s a lightning flash?

    Simplest way:<div>

    • Get your image and apply the Tint effect
    • Set the “Set White to” to black. Evetything in the image will now be black
    • On a new solid, use the Advanced Lightning effect and trim the layer so it only shows up for a few frames

    For a better way to do lightning though, check out this tutorial from Aharon Rabinowitz on CreativeCow’s YouTube channel:

    You’ll need ORs in there:

    if (child.indexOf('h') > -1 || child.indexOf('e') > -1 || etc... ){

    paH = layersList[i];

    alert(paH.name);

    }

    I imagine it is stored in the meta-data of the file. If Apple files are writing this info in a way AE cannot read, AE won’t know what to use.

    I googled and the results suggest you’ll need a 3rd party program to read the meta-data.
