    Hi everyone,

I am trying to create the Starglow effect as seen in the included image, without the use of any 3rd party plug-ins (ie. trapcode). I want to ideally use this effect on particles and ball action to create some interesting moving starlight looks. I imagine using the effect like a blur. Does anyone have any ideas?

If there is something in Creative Cow that already addresses this please share the link. I am new to the site’s updated format and having some trouble navigating the site.

    Thank you in advance.

Starglow does quite a lot that makes it worth having, but I understand sometimes there are cases where you just have to build your own effect on a stock install.

I’d start with multiple instances of Directional Blur with an Add or Screen blend mode at different angles.

Take a look at CC Particle World. One of the shapes available is a star, it takes a little bit of work to get set up, but setting gravity to zero and expand the producer section could give you a field like this.
