  • Scale composition script negatively affects pre-comps image quality

Hi people! I need to scale up a composition but this composition has many pre-compositions inside. I noticed that if I scale it up with the File>Scripts>Scale Composition all the thing inside a pre-comp (which contains only shape layers) are scaled up but they loose quality, like if they were rasterized images and get pixelated. Is there a way to scale them avoiding that?
    Thank you.

Unfortunately, this is not easy to do in Ae.

You might just be able to enable “Collapse Transformations” for the affected precomp layer.

However, if you’re using effects or masks on that layer, it will not work as you intend. In that case, you’ll have to step into each precomp one-by-one, run the Scale Composition script, and then correct the scale property in other comps where those precomps are used as layers.

Could you not take your final composition and add it to a new composition and scale it up inside that one?

With any precomps they should scale up too and if you’re seeing artifacts and pixelation, is it in the final render or the preview?
