Agreed.

“The Temp Bin“:

i] Make a TEMP Bin and drag ALL the Bins into it

ii] Now Drag each BIN out of the Temp Bin to the ROOT Bin in the order you want.

iii] When the Temp Bin is EMPTY, delete it.

You should now have the Bins Re-Ordered in the way you wanted.

Have you investigated VP’s Multicamera Edit options? It does what I believe you are asking.

Multi Screens within the Vegas Internal AND you can also have this on an External OR a complete Realtime view of the Edit on the External. I’ve just set-up a 5 Track Project and there’s space for more too. I have 5 separate monitor Screens within the Vegas Internal Preview and I can elect to have the same on the External Monitor OR a complete full frame of the the Multicamera Edit as it progresses. Lots of control.

In VegasPro9 or 10 or 11 or 12:-

GO: Tools>Multicamera

I recommend you also review the multicamera options in VASST’s Ultimate S Pro Quad Cam and Edward Troxel’s Excalibur have Multicam options too.

Are you telling a Story? If so, what is it? How do you want your audience to feel? If so what is it?

IMO you’re starting at the wrong end. The story comes first not the Method of telling it. Get your story together and the cuts and/or transitions from one mood or energy to the next will look after themselves. They will!

I’ve read this elsewhere too.

Disengaging the GPU appears to work for many people.

What card are you using?

Ethan I saw the graphics around the T/C you mentioned in your first post. That is indeed very fine and creative work. It would be possible in VP, but you’d need to spend much time getting to what you wanted.

Do you have any Graphics or advanced Compositing Packages?

When I’ve had this it is because I wasn’t careful about re-rendering and had used a little more of the Vegas Timeline, which ships into the already fixed DVDA Timeline and I did a Replace rather than a delete – if you understand where I’m coming from. Anyhoo . . What I needed to do was to Extend OR start over with a new Vegas render out and not do a replace in DVDA. Maybe just a delete in DVDA would do it for you?

What I have used in the past, was OPUS Pro.

OP would produce any number of configurations media<>menus<>selections in many different ways. However, that would be published on a DVD-ROM and would NOT be available to be played on a DVD STB which needs to have a “platter” that adheres to the DVD Convention.

DVDs are great, but when it comes to this type of “wish” are severely limited AND limiting in their feature-set.

(Now, if only one could sensibly connive, conspire and construct to make the 100 selections . .? STOP, let it go . . . . !)
