Vegas 11-12
Posted by Scott Francis on January 12, 2013 at 2:30 amHello All,
Is it still necessary to have ONLY Vegas 12 installed on a machine or can we now have 11 & 12 with the newer builds? I have projects that I cannot risk only having 12….
ThanksScott Francis

January 12, 2013 at 3:51 amI don’t have 12 but I’ve never heard of a new version of Vegas requiring the previous version to be unistalled. In fact, most guys don’t risk dumping their old version until the new version is proven stable.. and for good reason. 🙂

January 12, 2013 at 4:39 amYou can have both 11 and 12 installed. What you may have seen on this forum is a recommendation to only install 12 and remove 11 if you were experiencing problems with a version 11 install. Those problems would sometimes impact version 12 too.
Systems vary widely, so if version 11 was working for you, then installing version 12 will be fine and you can use both versions as needed. I have both versions installed, but rarely launch version 11 except to try and reproduce a problem mentioned on this forum. Version 12 with the NewBlue Titler Pro v1 is much more stabler now than when version 11 first came out.

January 12, 2013 at 1:36 pmI have Vegas Pro 8.0, 8.1, 9.0, 10.0, 11.0 & 12.0 install on one of my test machines and they all work fine. My main editing workstation has both 11.0 & 12.0. No worries with having multiple versions of Vegas Pro installed.
