Tom? – Tried your solution. Not working here in London? . .. Downloaded new drivers from CSP site. Still no joy. All other s/w works.
I CAN see the 5 in the 6 option, and changed it, but I can’t get the edited Pref to accepted by CSP . . what next?

I haven’t used PP. I have used other packages.
Vegas is just so responsive to my ideas.
If it is FAST edit decision and URGENT creation pathways I’ve found Vegas a pure joy to use! I really mean this! I’m doing stuff on the fly ALL THE time. I can try out say 20 different things in about 4 minutes . . . I can have my client sitting over my shoulder – this doesn’t happen too much! – and I can experiment AND they stay enthralled at what they can see emerge.
I akin/liken Vegas to a smart graphics package – and YES I do sometimes use my Graph Tablet to “draw” my way round the GUI. I can grab events and lasso events with my Graph Pen . . . I’m trying to put over to you that this package is just too easy to use and allows for many ,many creative decisions VERY fast . . . .
The use of Loop Editing has got to be seen to be believed! Peter is totally correct. PLUS the Trimmer . .. ah man there is too much . . .The trimmer lets me Scrub the bits I want, save as a subclip and then “sprinkle” these where on the T/L I want. I’m doing L&J editing at times I don’t even have time to think – they just happen now. AND this is the point. I’m getting real close to “Real-Time” editing . .. forget about real time Preview and render times. I want to have an NLE that allows for me to get closer to that Nirvana of real Time editing – editing as if the video IS happening – yeah? Can Premmie do this?
Bottom line here is that this is ALL reflected in the output,. I DON’T mean time to edit BUT the way a piece actually looks – it looks fluid. THAT’S what I want.
Best regards – get Vegas – whatever version – it is gonna change your life – FOREVER!
( okay Pete? yah think he’s convinced now? )
Best regards,
Grazie

Hi Edward – Nope, I don’t mean Manual at the XM2 end, I mean at the V5 end. I realise about the pass thru thing . . I’m sure my XM2 auto kicks in WHEN it gets the signal from V5 to start recording.
Anyway . .it is now 11:30pm in London and I’m beat! . . . .I’ll reviosit this on the morrow.
Gary! Great DVDs for V5! . . How AM I gonna get V6 now? Liam aint here for a looooong time!
