You have enough free disk space where Vegas is trying to create the temporary files? Did you change all the file locations in both File-Properties and Options – Preferences? By default they all point to drive “C”.

I always PTT in manual mode as well. If you stick a blank DV tape in the camera, you must be on manual mode anyway. Plus, as you said, for VHS pass-thru you need to be in manual mode. I just leave it in manual all the time.

Hi Edward – Nope, I don’t mean Manual at the XM2 end, I mean at the V5 end. I realise about the pass thru thing . . I’m sure my XM2 auto kicks in WHEN it gets the signal from V5 to start recording.

Anyway . .it is now 11:30pm in London and I’m beat! . . . .I’ll reviosit this on the morrow.

Gary! Great DVDs for V5! . . How AM I gonna get V6 now? Liam aint here for a looooong time!

    Grazie

I’ve been in touch with Sony support. So far they can’t figure it out either. I can capture video from the camera, but I can’t go from the computer to the Canon GL2. View on external monitor from the timeline doesn’t work either. Thanks for all the effort. Perhaps Sony will come up with something tomorrow.

Edward – I generally use device control for PTT, and it works fine, even with a blank tape.

I’ve always done manual but when I’ve stuck a blank tape in I thought the other option was greyed out. I may have been mistaken. I’ll have to look more closely the next time I stick in a blank tape.
