if you have a smaller sized file, then yes just add a DVE effect to your clip, and resize/keyframe as needed.
If you have an oversized file and want to do a pan and zoom, then link to the source instead of capturing it. Add a DVE, and you can now work on the file in its native resolution.
Whenever possible, i ask for bigger files and try to maintain resolution this way.

Im not even sure you have to delete the media first to re-import.
When you do the batch import command, just de-select the “offline media only” button. It should re-import all clips you’ve selected.Glenn

Ya, we finally gave up the fix attempts and downloaded a legacy version
from Avid and did an fresh instal. All is back.Thanks.

you might also have to delete your pref. file for the wave forms.
do a search in this forum for waveforms…it was talked about around 2 months ago.

There used to be a free downloadable plug in called DMN transfer. It allowed transfer mode in Avid.
Dont know if it is still kicking around or not.

Do they have the “key” symbol on them when you look at them in the bin?
If not, then you do need to re-import them with alpha invert selected in the options.
Also, not sure if it has changed or not, but in the old days, keyable elements had to be premultiplied on black for Avid. Not sure if that has ever been adjusted or not. Keyable elements on a white background may not key properly for you.

I’m guessing they shot varicam, and were thinking you were going to run it through a frame rate convertor for the slo mo effect?

Dave, the idea there is those shots are off the same “source”. Davinci
is giving you the option of saving time, by putting the same corrections, on similar shots. Sometimes it can be great, sometimes, you have to unlink before you do anything…depends on your shots.You could also right click and create new versions of each shot.
