Another thought is that you are trying to cut the video excatly to the beat, but these points may not correspond to the frame boundaries. Since video must be cut in frame increments,this is something you don’t have to contend with when dealing only with audio.

I think what you want to do is to split the video close to where you want, then when you trim the edge you’ll hit the snap points as you drag.

If you’re talking about when you drag the media to the timeline, then drag it while holdong the righht mouse button, then choose video only.
If it’s already on the timeline, turn on Ignore Event Grouping, then delete the audio.

You can put them both on your timeline. Set your project properties to match whatever you are using most, then the clips in the other format will be conformed.

Have you tried the .veg.back (backup) file? Rename it to .veg first.
