It’s not actually built yet. The company I had ordered from turned out to be backordered on the CPU,so I am looking at a couple of other companies instead.

    Yes, it would.

I am in the process of getting an Athlon 64 x2 4800+ system.
I ran a render test comparing my Dual Xeon 2.6 and Pentium 4 3.0GHz to an AMD 64 4000+ (single core)using Vegas 6 rendering DV footage with a lot of filter and pan/crop overhead. The AMD 64 was more than 2 1/2 times faster than either of them.

Can’t wait to see the dual core 4800+ in action 🙂

  • Make your time selection and hit Ctrl/T this deletes everything else. Do a Save As. Then undo to get the rest of the project back.

Right-click on the rendered clip and under Properties > Media Change the alpha channel setting (most likely Premultiplied will work).

Alternatley, you could save your composited elevator sequence as a project, then drop it in another project as a nested .veg file which will preserve the alpha channel effect.

[Anthony] “Man someone should write a vegas for dummies tutorial on this lol”

Actually, I do a step-by-step demonstration in The Vegas 5 Companion video.

If you are using Vegas 6, there will be little to be gained by a render distributed within the same machine. Just make sure that your video preferences are set so that you are using 4 threads.

Under the Renderers Tab, change the view to advanced. Just cut and paste the long-form entry and change the port number.

Before we can give tips on how to get there, you’ll need to explain more about where you want to go.

You put the videos on their own track and resize them with Track Motion.
