    Good Evening All

I have worked with Vegas for some years now but have never had to color correct video.

I am use to the techniques with Photoshops CS in combination with RAW pictures from my Cannon 1Ds but have never done in Vegas.

Where’s the magic Eye-dropper I click on my gray card in video?? LOL j/k i know its not in Vegas.

Can someone give me some tips for this scene. I have a still bellow from the track.

Before we can give tips on how to get there, you’ll need to explain more about where you want to go.

    OK- Thank you Gary.

This image is too warm IMO

How do I make the white look white instead of beige?

    Here’s a simple approach

    Add the Colour Corrector FX

Using the Complementary colour eye droppers (below and to the left of each circle)

Left hand – click on what should be black (Tyre) – this changed setting to 264.4 / 0.190
Centre – click on what should be mid grey (Drivers headrest thru window) – 342.1 / 0.227
Right – clcik on what should be white (floor) – 304.6 / 0.698
(Figures are Angle and Magnitude boxes)

    Looks pretty good here!

Another method to Peter’s would be to use Mike Crash’s ‘Auto levels’ plugin. Use the Color Temperature section. The following settings seemed pretty good.

    Correction 100
    Red -19
    Green 0
    Blue -4

    The plugin is available at:
