I recently changed most of my external drive hookups from firewire to USB 2 (which is actually a bit faster throughput) and am much happier with the connectivity now.

How about saving the project with all the regions, then to have a project with only a particular region, highlight it and hit Ctrl/T?

As you move selected events laterally on the timeline, look at the top of the ruler. Along with the expanding blue arrow, there’s a readout of how far you are moving the event(s)from their orginal position.
You can also move one event by a specific amount by typing in a new timecode in the edit details window.

You can select markers (e.g. Click the first, and shift/click the last), them move them all at once.

Shift/Ctrl/k will let you see the markers and regions saved within the events. You will have to manually place markers and regions in the new project (which can be done fairly quickly unless there are a zillion of them).

The best way is to have a systematic approach as to where your media, prerenders, veg files, etc are stored so that when you want to delete them, you know where they are.
