    Split screen:

    Track 1: Split Screen media from Media Generator with Mask Generator FX applied, track compositing mode set to Multiply (mask)

    Track 2: Video for white side of mask, track set to be child of track 1

    Track 3: Video for black side of mask

    I am not aware of such a shortcut (would be nice).
    However, you CAN open Edit Details, and have it show the timeline start times of selected events.

    Have you inadvertantly lowered the opacity, e.g. on the track header?

    You must render to Mpeg for use on DVD. 2.5 hours is really more than you can squeeze onto a single layer DVD (4.3 Gigs) without seeing quality loss.

    Two different approaches would be to use the color curves filter to selectively affect the red, green, and blue channels, or use the secondary color corrector to specify the color (or range) that you want to alter.

    Reduce the opacity of the top video by clicking and dragging down from the top edge of the event. You should see a vlue line once you start dragging.

    It will work fine, except if you use the secondary audio channels, you will have to use different capture software such as Scenalyzer.
