It can be done within Vegas. If it were me, I would go with Track Noise Gate, Track EQ and Track Compressor in Audio Track FX. Granted, it helps when you know what everything does. This is 25% science, 70% art and 5% luck (all debatable)
If you’re looking for a ready made all purpose plug-in, there are some already there. Find one close to what you want and then tweak it .Every audio tracks have their own quirks. Question is, does it sound right for the purpose. (no pun intended)

I checked with my Vegas Pro V14 and the plug-ins are there, the look in the panel is different but they are present. In version 14, you have to open the folders to see the various plug-ins.
Under: Tools/Video/Video Track FX…

After installing Hitfilm and restarting Vegas, you will see in your FX options that a series of Ignite plug-ins were added to your Vegas. These are just a few.
Typing this hitfilm vegas integration in Google will give you a hole bunch of info and tutorials.

You may want to try the free version of Hitfilm. There is a free version. the neat thing about it is that you can also purchase options separately. It will integrate very well with Vegas. Have a try.

I gave the Canon XH-A1 as an example only because I bought one when they came out in the late 90s. I’m sorry to say that I’m not very well versed on the Sony products. That being said, I believe that the Sony HVR-Z7E, or similar, would be interesting since it has an HDMI uncompressed output (someone I worked with had one) and you can get a used one for around 500$ or less.
Again, as with anything, it is always best if you can ”try before you buy”

NTSC stand for National Television System Committee and this system is used in countries that have an electrical grid that is supplied with 120V at 60Hz. (see this link for the list of countries that use NTSC) Frame rate is typically 29.97 fps. (half of 60Hz) and multiples of it.

Now, what about 24 fps. That is a whole different story. It was for the longest time the standard for film. Best you read these very well written articles about the history of it on top of the one recommended by Mike Kujbida.

Just so I get this right, you are using frames captured from video of still pictures taken with a GH5. Right ?
Jpeg is a lossy format as opposed to .PNG which is lossless. The other advantage is that you can have a .PNG with transparency, not .JPEG. Granted, the .PNG file of the same picture will be bigger than a .JPEG. That’s the drawback. But who cares, you want your clip to look as good as possible !
Your best bet is to use a good quality scanner, scan at highest DPI and save to .PNG. The DPI is just so you start off with the best possible quality picture. Frame size is the thing to remember. Try to have the biggest possible size of pictures to start with. If you have to zoom in or make it fit your projects frame size, you’re better off quality wise to avoid having to make your pics bigger to fit.
If you have to use what you have already on video, make sure that when you make your .PNG with Save Snapshot To File… the Preview Quality is at Best (Full)

Thru the years, I’ve found that always starting with stable, video before adding anything to it would save me a lot of grief.
Stabilize your clip(s), de-noise if needed, render it as your starting clean feed and then go crazy with the FX and CC. The less you have on your FX chain the better.
