The stabilization with Vegas 17 has the “Jitters” when rendered. It looks fine in the preview but after rendering it jitters all over the place.
I’m using it at the end of a chain of filters. Does it matter where it sits in the chain?
Any solutions as to this annoying new feature?
I do have an old version of Mercalli still installed. Do I need to uninstall that one?
    Thanks.

    Hi Roger

Thru the years, I’ve found that always starting with stable, video before adding anything to it would save me a lot of grief.

Stabilize your clip(s), de-noise if needed, render it as your starting clean feed and then go crazy with the FX and CC. The less you have on your FX chain the better.

    Cheers !

[Roger Bansemer] “It looks fine in the preview”

yeah, well it really shouldn’t. What you’re seeing in Render is really what’s had to happen that you’re NOT seeing in Preview. I do exactly what Francois does, also learnt over the years. ????

    A) Trim/Select Footage. : VegasP
    B) Stabilise: Mercalli
    C) Denoise : Neat Video
    D) CC & Grading : I gotta whole bunch of Tools for that including NEWBLUE ColorFast, all the Vegas Toolset, Magic Bullet Looks

Roger, you’re gonna have to accept the fact that just ‘cos you can do something – like making a whole Necklace of Chained FXs – just maybe you shouldn’t? Point in case here is stabilisation.

Thanks for the tips. I’ll give this a try. It’s always something isn’t it!
Really disappointed too that my BCC doesn’t work anymore with Vegas 17.
