Make sure you are using “straight” alphas rather than “pre-multiplied” alphas in your renders.

Try to be a little more organic with the camera wiggle. The seesawing back and forth looks a little too mechanical and likely to induce seasickness. Subtle smooth movements back and forth at varying degrees to give the sense of a hand held camera or that the viewer is floating. Then mix it up a little as you move from position to position to the next title.

My money is on a simple studio lighting setup. Most likely a light with a party gel lighting a black, gray or colored cyc wall or seamless paper behind the subject creating a wash with a bit of a hotspot.
This could be done green screen as well, but why spend the extra time and effort properly lighting a green screen and pulling the matte when a five minute lighting job can do the trick?Erik

This might get you started…the kid does a quick video tutorial on getting a flying 2d knife made in Blender into AE. Basically just exporting to a Quicktime with an alpha channel.

Quicktime usually isn’t capable of recognizing and properly displaying anamorphic pixel aspect ratios like an NLE and AE would. If you intend on outputting a file that you intend to watch on the computer, use 1920×1080 with square pixels.
As for the stuttery video, possibility that the file you have created contains too much data for your system to display without dropping frames…such as too high of a bitrate.

the field order is dependent on what you will be working in. DV is usually lower field first. HD is always upper field first.
Lossless CODECs like Quicktime Animation are usually the best bet to get work from one application to another. Also image sequences, where each frame of video is output as a separate numbered image that can be re-compiled into video when imported.
Mostly it will depended on what Premiere is capable of importing.Erik

The QT animation lossless codec creates files with an incredible amount of data. Attempting to play the files might result in some playback problems as your computer’s CPU and hard drive may struggle to play it smoothly.
Export out of AE using QT Animation to preserve the quality. Then use a dedicated compression program (soreson, etc..) to compress the QT animation file to a delivery format (h.264, etc..) that can be played back from your computer. -
Add a little blur to give a feel of a little depth between your subject and background. Photo stills tend to be too sharp.
Match your background comp to your foreground. Meaning that if you have a wide shot for an interview, then the camera comp changes to a close up, make sure that you also “zoom” in or enlarge the background to match as this is what would happen if they were in front of a real background. -

When using small type sizes, fine detail lines (such as the horizontal lines in T, F, H, L, E and others will tend to disappear/reappear as they may be only one pixel thick. If the text is animated with movement it becomes even more noticeable.
AE does a certain amount of anti-aliasing to smooth out edges on the text as well, which might account for the grey you are seeing.
Picking the right font, typeface and size and still meeting your design goals is the tricky part. Most folks tend to stick to bold typefaces and fonts without too much detail at larger sizes. There is no surefire solution since every design calls for different things. Experiment like you have been until you find a good mix.Erik
