Actually….scratch that…the autoplay option is not available for cameras… Might only be achievable by editing the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\AutoplayHandlers\EventHandlers

Next time you have the deck connected, Open “My Computer” and right-click on the vcr/camera icon that XP will add. Choose “properties” and choose the tab for “autoplay”. Click the option for “prompt me each time to select an option”

AE 6.5 makes this even easier as it includes Text Animations that you can apply. There is a specific animation called “increase tracking”. Then adjust the keyframes to suit…

For special characters like this I just use the copy/paste function using the Character Map utility that is built into XP. Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Character Map. Find any character you want from the font you want…you can either copy them using the tool and paste them into the titler or it also gives the keystroke commands as well. Not all fonts have all the characters…it’s also useful for the webdings and wingdings symbol fonts as well.
