We stocked up on Mac Pro’s at work so we are good for 5 years.
    If they go with something like an iMac Pro, that too me would mean a HBA option for a CUBIX or an Apple made one ;
Plus the video power for the older 30s.
They killed off the Apple 30s so Im hanging on to the ones we have till they burn out.

Its in the wild with both awesome accolades and the obvious demo bug.
Will we ever learn not to delve into new software without first testing on prisoners 🙁

So true Andrew. Not sure where everyone’s head space is but I’m too old to be sticking my hands in my BOXX/DELL at work.
I don’t mind doing it to our Mac Pro’s (since they are so easy to deal with), but I’m done with hot-rodding for Maya/Max :p
The way I see it, I buy a Windows box loaded and done.
If it breaks, its probably dated so a new comes along 🙂

What no annoying pop-up window like Adobe’s when AE croaks or acts a resource pig and dies?
Adobe should remember my email by now during the oh so awesome CS3 to CS4 upgrade that caused so many crashes in AE, I almost had to change to Fusion 😛
The pop-up is still there and none of the problems we’r ever fixed.
Never mind about the so called Apple/Apple flub on AFP.
yes you are both to blame since you didnt own up to it quick enough.
    No warning, no foul?
And please Adobe guys you know who I am, we still own a huge amount of seats you can rest assure we wont be leaving you.
Just thank Photoshop, Illustrator and (gulp) Flash for that 😛

Anyone using the Intous 5 yet?
I want to move my 4 down and wondering if that ring can access the timeline ala scrub?

we own 10 seats of master and production…Ill fire up PPro maybe once in a month. Even though it works with R3D, Im too deep into the AMA with Avid and RCXPro to FCPX (using ProRes4444 4K) to care about PPro.

  • I figured that most FCPX updaters using a Mac Pro would have installed an extra drive and dabbled with the Lion install?
Makes for no headaches when running FCS and FCPX on same system.
sorry if that’s off topic but I read allot of posts like this and cant figure out why folks don’t just dual-boot.

Avid editor for many years, love FCPX.
Feels like taking a shower under a waterfall in Hawaii compared to MC at times 😉
All kidding aside, they are both tools that we can all use.
If you cant afford Creative Suite or MC then take give it a try.
Its really a dollar a day when you think about it 😉
