Vectors created in external apps like Adobe Illustrator.
The shapes within AE are less cpu crunchers.

For us the culprits are vector layers.
We use a ton due wide use of Graphic Designers.
yes pre-render as much as possible.
I miss the days when Plug-ins slowed down the system.

Well that explains why I stopped using it 🙂
Did you install anything new on that system?
Do you get the same results on other systems with that file or different file?

Mine has been spotty on a Mac Pro 2.93GHz.
    Worse now since installing 9.5.
Installed it yesterday to test Premiere Pro CS 6 and FCPX worked fine all day.
    Today its dead.
I un-installed all drivers and installed again.
After reboot, no card shows up on System Report or BM panel 🙁

    Oliver that would be 9.5.
Installed yesterday, tested both Premiere Pro CS6 and FCPX.
Then today none of them works 🙁
    Re-installed again.
    Crossing fingers.

Sad to hear that about your project.
Felt the same way back in 2010 to 2011 with a few Avid projects.
Un-playable due to errors even Avid couldnt explain.
    But we moved on.
Most of us are no strangers to dead in the water projects 🙂

Ive done my Intensity Pro > Samsung UN22D5000 (22inch) calibration using Final Cut Pro’s color bars.
I think mine is fine thru FCPX.
Any tops Oliver on making that true?
