…using Vegas 6d… …I want an HD-clip …you mean rendering to AVI – HD cineform intermediate codec and then to WMV-HD ? … basically all the clips on the project are already cineform-AVIs what’s the difference (for the purpose) between 1 long AVI and several AVI clips (project) ?

Some VOBs look weird in Vegas. I deal with this before. Another solution for editing (have to render):

1.- Have VOB in your hard drive (rip DVD with any tool you want).
2.- Use DVD2AVI to make a d2v file. Demux audio to put on Vegas timeline.
3.- Use VFAPI to make the d2v an AVI compliant. VERY FAST and easy.
4.- Drop the AVI on Vegas (with the corresponding audio) timeline and edit as a normal AVI.
    5.- Render. DONE.

Always work. Same process as capturing from DVD player without the capturing time (just ripping DVD time).

    All the best.

April 8, 2006 at 1:38 am in reply to: DVD Decryptor and DVDA-2 EOR please help!

DVDarch doesn’t inflate files… you must be duplicating your video twice when authoring, somewhere in your workspace…. remember that the IFO & BUP files (from your original DVD) are useless to DVDarch….

As I said before you can use VideoRedo only to combine, “remux” or “demux” the video & audio files in order to make it easy to DVDarch …. (open VOB, remux as mpeg video, or demux in elementary streams)…. if you’re in digital domain and only want to manipulate your file and add menus, I don’t see any reason to re-capture your video again just to get an AVI ….. you just need the right tools (sometimes, more than one) to make it eficiently and fast (much faster than recapture) …… anyway, there are always many roads to do something…

    all the best
