K, although the easy setup doesn’t list 24p, I was able to choose a new sequence preset with 1080p24 and then it set the editing timebase to 23.98 and the compressor to 1080p30 with a custom framerate of 23.976 and the interlacing appears to be gone. It also works the same with using Apple ProRes 422 as the compressor codec.

Am I on the right track? I don’t really want to have to transcode all this footage and like what Raylight does.

I was just trying to do this same thing. Your workaround is helpful and I went to button list and found the keyboard shortcuts in case anyone else may find them useful.

shift + F4 = locks all video tracks
shift + F5 = locks all audio tracks

Are there any stats on if this:

    1. Increases encoding time significantly
    2. Increases filesize

Great tip! I am using it!

    Thanks

  • Who do you use for transcription? The one that knows how to insert timecode from Quicktime?

  • Found it:

Mark Clip (X): Click to set In and Out points at the boundaries of the clip that
currently intersects the Canvas/Timeline playhead. The clip on the lowest-numbered
track with Auto Select enabled is used.

  • Thanks Kevin and everyone else for clarifying this. I just had “mark clip” working fine and then it stopped working and is marking the whole clip on v1 and not v3 like I want, I tried setting the patch to v3 but no go. What circumstances might be present for “X” to not mark the clip correctly?

Thanks Neil! At least you confirmed that there isn’t a way to do it in FCP 6.

I guess that will get me motivated to spend a weekend reinstalling the OS and Final Cut Pro 7!

I use this same keyer and I feel your pain. The deal is that Primatte Keyer Pro is archaic, it only uses one core and no GPU. It’s as slow as it gets.

Extremely frustrating, it takes 1 hour per minute using 1920×1080 progressive footage in ProRes 422 for me. I am currently planning on ditching PKP the next time I need to key a project. There hasn’t been an update to PKP in ages.

    Thanks for your reply Larry,

That works if I just have one or two but I need to do a mass action on all my through edits. I was editing a multicam and just letting it roll while making realtime cuts between cameras. I went back and changed some camera angles back to the surrounding ones.

Now I have a sequence with 20-30 through edits and would like to rejoin all of them without doing it the hard way. Is this possible?
