I know I can lock individual tracks within a sequence, but is there a way to lock a sequence in the FCP Browser window?

    No, don’t think so.

There’s a keyboard shortcut to lock all video and lock all audio tracks, though. Then you can just label the sequence red or something.

Not to my knowledge, but since you can lock files at the Finder level.. Perhaps you can copy the sequence you intend to lock to a new project and lock it… Or export an XML of the sequence and lock it. The XML option might be better, as match frame will continue to work (or will it? Need to test that)

I was just trying to do this same thing. Your workaround is helpful and I went to button list and found the keyboard shortcuts in case anyone else may find them useful.

shift + F4 = locks all video tracks
shift + F5 = locks all audio tracks
